Gallery click to view full-size image: I live in London, England with my husband, daughter and son. We both work in London but bought The Old School in as we wanted to spend weekends out of the city and enjoy the English countryside at its best. We love the house and buying in the beautiful area of Icklesham, on the Brede Valley, with the beach a short distance away, was the best decision we ever made for us and our children. We both love travelling and are lucky enough to have visited many far flung countries and have brought pieces of furniture back with us from our travels which we’ve used to decorate the house. Our favourite past times are cooking, socialising with friends, playing and watching sports and skiing. What do they love about it? We bought The Old School after falling in love with the area. We wanted a house with lots of character in a village with a great pub, close to the beach and beautiful country walks.

Etymology[ edit ] The modern name of the river is comparatively recent, probably dating from around the sixteenth century. It is derived from the village and hundred of Rotherfield, located where the river rises. Rotherfield means ‘open land of the cattle’, based on the Old English Hrydera-feld. Prior to being called the Rother, it was known as the Limen throughout its length.

Historic, Famous, Pet Friendly Many spooky incidents seen by both guests and porters The Old Bell Hotel, located directly next to the Malmesbury Abbey has foundations dating back to This historic hotel has a vast history with many stories about mysterious goings on. The east wing is built on part of the former abbey churchyard and it is believed that 8 sarcophagi are located under the bar.

Could this be the reason for the spooky goings on at The Old Bell Hotel? The James Ody room is home to the Grey Lady, as she is known. The Grey Lady has been seen by residents and staff alike. It is thought that she was a victim of an forced and very unhappy marriage which took place at the abbey, although this is just a story and her identify remains a mystery. The Danvers room also seems to have a lot of activity with levitating glasses that are they hurled at the wall and bedclothes being pulled off guests in the dead of the night.

However, The Foe room is whether the most peculiar incident occurred.
